Mocktail Menu
Brand Identity, Production, Systems
The Concept
Mocktail Menu is a brand identity and product design project that encompasses social engagement and awareness. The objective of this product is to promote social alternatives to alcohol in the Denver area. An introductory box includes tools, ingredients, and an informational booklet. The booklet consists of tool explanations, local Denver businesses that offer nonalcoholic drinks, and a recipe from one of the locations. A local focus fosters community engagement within the home and outside of it as a means of developing a more pervasive nonalcoholic culture.
The Process
This project began with ideation. It was crucial to narrow down the intention of the work so that any deliverables would be relevant and maximize the intended outcome. From there I began developing the brand identity, working first from rough logo sketches to vectorizations. These vectorizations were taken apart to create systems designs. Over time I developed a cohesive brand that promoted fun, engagement, and the luxury that comes from creating.
So what IS the difference between wheat and lavender icons? It turns out it has to do with the curve of the flowers.
The Solution
Synthesizing an ambitious brand identity proved challenging in determining its visuals from graphics to packaging. Inspiration and experimentation with materials allowed me to overcome this.
